Talk to them!

I'm writing this during a lull in conferences tonight! But if you couldn't make it out, here are some questions your student should be able to answer for you. They, after all, are the experts about their grade.

• Will you show me your This I Believe blog?
• Sign in to Moodle and show me your ELA 11 Larson course--ask them to navigate around the course to show you the calendar, our current unit, how material is posted, etc. 
• How did you respond on the marking period reflection you filled out on Monday this week?
• Did you bring your Lord of the Flies book home (we just started reading the novel today)?

I am so pleased with the attitude so many of my juniors have--they are working to improve their reading and writing skills to be college and career ready.
