Reflections

Grades are final (or almost!) and we're getting ready to start a new unit. Today students reflected on their progress in class and what they can or should do to improve their skills. I'll share their responses with parents at conferences on Thursday. I also had team members comment on the other member's blog posts--I was so impressed with the kids' work this year. I gave back scored rubrics today, so students have their grades in hand. Please ask to see your student's blog--the settings are 'private' so they'll either need to add you as a reader or simply sign on themselves and have you read over their shoulder.

Our next unit will revolve around how character influences our life experiences. Lord of the Flies is a novel about a group of young boys stranded on an island; despite their efforts, things fall apart. Students will ask themselves, "Why?" Work for the next PBL unit will begin earlier this marking period and students will present their project to the class. But more on that in days to come.
