Taking a closer look ...

After a semester of SSR on Fridays, it was time today to assess just how deeply students read--or, to be honest, if they read at all. We were in the computer lab where students had a short project assessment to complete on Glogster. See the directions here (link). Students emailed me the link to their Glog--I will probably start grading these tomorrow, and since students had time to work in class, this quick turn-around
is very do-able.

Tomorrow in class we'll do some final wrap-up of A Raisin in the Sun, and I will introduce our marking period project. This unit students will complete an independent project and we'll have 9 class days to work on it. That is plenty of time to complete the work, although students will need to be on task. You can find the directions I'll talk about tomorrow here (link).  The final RIS comprehension test is next Wednesday, May 22. If students need to review, I have video to Acts I & II on Moodle, and they have a printed copy of Act III.

[You may have heard some frustration--or glee!--at my absence this week Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. We learned last Thursday that my son-in-law was diagnosed with (a fairly treatable form of) cancer and was hurried into surgery on Monday; I went to support my daughter and him during this rough time.]
