Wrapping it up

I think our 4 days of ACT practice tired the kids out--and we were glad to put it aside for a while after today! I hope the overview didn't make anyone too anxious. It is a high-stakes test (Michigan colleges award financial assistance based on ACT scores) but if students have been taking school seriously for the past 12 years and are reading daily (!) they shouldn't be worried about the English and Reading tests.

Most students now have their This I Believe essays shared and the file named correctly--I'll start grading those this weekend. There were some grumbles about the process of using Google docs for submitting the essay, but I think in the long run students will love the flexibility and convenience of the platform. I know I do. Directions for "How to share a Google doc" are on our Moodle course under "Resources"; I also offered students a printed handout.
