Practice makes perfect

Yesterday we started our first round of practice for the ACT.  I gave an overview of the MME, test-taking tips, and information on each test related to ELA 11: English, reading, and writing. Today we'll continue with another practice selection--I am encouraging students to mark up their test as I go over the answers. I have added "test language" words to our Word Wall; it's hard to get a question correct when you don't know what a word means in the directions.

We also took vocab quiz #5 today--check those grades to see if your student is studying. I also checked and added another Writer's Notebook grade. Students must have their WN in class when I collect them to receive credit. I choose 3-5 entries I will grade and look only at those. Anything lower than a 20/25 means your student is (probably) not using class time.
