Time to work

Tomorrow is the reading assessment for this marking period. Yesterday and today students worked in small groups reviewing the two stories: The White Heron and A Pair of Silk Stockings. We used a mind map to organize our thinking and talked about the stories as a whole class to fill in any missing details. I also reminded students of the resources they have available on Moodle--I have story links and mp3s of both stories, as well as links to websites that provide more study help.

I'm also expecting at this point in the year that students are annotating Articles of the Week as we've practiced in class for the past 6 weeks. They are to label the main idea of each paragraph or section in the margin and underline supporting details. 

Students had a great deal of time to work on both assignments. If they were on-task, they've got their work finished. Homework for the week in an online module on Moodle; students need the information before our next computer lab day.
