Google-ing right along

We had more time today to make revisions to the This I Believe essays. I returned the typed drafts students marked up on Thursday and they should continue revising tonight and/or tomorrow for homework. The essay is due--ready to grade--by Wednesday at midnight. The beauty of using Google docs is that students don't have to worry about handing in a paper copy (ink is so expensive!) and I can comment on their work on Google, as well as look at their revision history. There are a few scattered students who are not using Google docs and working instead on Word--interestingly, their essays are also "at home" and they were not able to use class time today. If students do type on Word at home, they must upload their work to Googe docs/Drive in order to work on them at school and so that I can grade them. (I grade "paper" essays only occasionally.)

The rest of this week we are starting our first ACT practice--I'll introduce students to the test, recommend  a great website to use as a resource, and give them some test-taking tips.
