Poll Everywhere

Students returned to the computer lab, but today our focus was drafting the Works Cited page (yesterday students began to type their researched essay). Students linked here to get an overview of the process; I also demonstrated on the data projector how to set up hanging indents in Word. I collected the drafts at the end of the hour and will mark errors so that kids can correct those before they hand in their essay.

I am also surveying students regarding their own use of technology using the online poll site Poll Everywhere. Some may even decide to use the data in their essay. Wednesday's responses indicated that 13% sent 1-25 texts; 10% sent 26-50 texts; and 77% sent over 50 texts each day. The responses today show how often the sampled students use social networking each day. Thirty minutes to one hour: 33%; one hour-two hours: 33%; over two hours 33%.
