Getting started
Students continued to work with summary writing today--this time, they paired up with another team from yesterday, chose the better of the two summaries, and wrote that one on large newsprint. Tomorrow I'll have all the summary paragraphs for each hour posted and kids will choose which they think is the best--in both writing and detail. PBL groups had time to plan for their Check #1 due on Monday. They wrote their claim, chose experts to represent, and decided who will present the counterclaim. I gave lots of board directions, added detail to the Moodle agenda, and offered students plenty of time for questions so they should be clear on their task. I also handed out the last research article for this PBL.
