Students needed 3 "biggies" completed before they came to class today--a gmail account, an email sent to
my gmail, and registration in English 11 Larson on Moodle. Most kids were good to go, as these were assignments the first couple weeks of school. Some had to play quick catch-up because today's assignment (to be finished for homework) was
completely on Moodle. I navigated around the site on the data projector for all my classes, showing them how to get to the agenda and how to work the menus. By the end of the hour, many students had their writing almost done in Google docs.
I am finding that kids rush through directions and simply guess what they're supposed to do next, often missing important formatting instructions--it is important that they slow down and take the time to double check their assignments.
Tomorrow is a short story quiz; we'll also work again with our mentor sentences from last week.
