Well, not really---but we had a short story quiz today and it is Friday ...

A quiet, but productive time in class today. Students were on their own creating a sentence based on our mentor sentence pattern: opener + sentence. They had most of the hour to work on their short story test. Only four questions, but I was looking for insight and quality. This is only our second assessment  and will begin to reflect in their cumulative grade. Many students have already asked about their class grade--I'll go over grades with every student next week. I know it has been difficult to be without access to grades this first month.
