ELA 11
As is our new Friday tradition, I continued reading a chapter of Hunger Games today. The pace of the plot is quickening, and I think most kids are finally hooked!
In an attempt to incorporate more technology (and give students some flexibility) I will be posting more and more on Moodle and asking students to go to the site for their work. When I introduced the short story assignment on Tuesday, I projected the directions on the front screen, but told students they were also posted on Moodle--I'm guessing most everyone will need to access the site in order to follow directions carefully. I will do the same with our work for Lord of the Flies.
AP Language
Yesterday kids had the hour to begin reading Silas Marner--and today we continued. I also gave students the outline for the unit; they have a partner project, Socratic Seminar topics, and reading check questions to help them check their comprehension. I think they'll enjoy the unit as it is very student-driven.
