Weekly wrap up

ELA 11
We continued Wall-E today and finished in 1st and 2nd hours; because of the assembly today, 6th hour will finish the movie on Monday. Also on Monday--students will begin to make connections between Wall-E, Fahrenheit 451, and "Harrison Bergeron". Students are offered a great deal of time to work individually and in small groups and to ask questions in large group--looking at your child's Learning Log grade on Skyward should give you an indication of whether or not they are making good use of those opportunities. The total score was 55--I was looking for 11 entries over a period of 5 weeks.

AP Language
I have some concerns that students are keeping up. Of the 15 students in AP Lang. only  3 are ready to write their paper, which was to begin today. I will put off writing until Monday and expect that students will make a mad dash to read and take notes this weekend. Some students only had 4 sources--this indicates three weeks (independent class work time and homework.) of reading?! Ouch.
