ELA 11
The last two weeks of our dystopian unit will see kids working on an essay and a Glog project. Today we will do the initial brainstorming for both assessments. In small groups students will list similarities from each of the works studied ("Harrison Bergeron", Wall-E, and Fahrenheit 451)--the more examples students brainstorm, the richer their essay and projects will be. (I've created a template for note-taking that kids can use and it's also stored on Moodle; notes should be in Learning Logs) Students will also brainstorm thesis statements they might use for their essay; these will be shared with all my classes.
AP Language
We've finally begun to write this research paper--students will begin their narrative today and hand it in at the end of the hour. I'll return them tomorrow and they will begin to type them in the computer lab.
