Think abouts

ELA 11
Our purpose for reading Fahrenheit and viewing Wall-E this unit is to think about the following:

• What is valued?
• How are humans de-valued?
• What is ridiculed?
• Of what are humans fearful?

Students began watching Wall-E today and will continue tomorrow. Next week will see students writing an essay about a theme they found; the glog project will follow.

AP Language
 Today students submitted their early thinking on their topic and drafted a rough outline of their understanding of the issue. I will return these tomorrow and conference with each student to help them clarify their ideas and plan their essay. My initial impression is that some students are a little "skimpy" on resources and so will need to buckle down and get some serious researching done this weekend.
