ELA 11
What a great day for students to get a lot done! They had a full hour for reading and reflection--about 25 minutes to read
Fahrenheit 451 and then 20 minutes to respond in their Learning Logs using one of the reading strategies we've practiced. At the end of their writing time, I distributed an MME reflection that Mr. Kraus has juniors complete each year; I will return these to him and he will share the responses with the School Improvement Team and staff. I also collected Learning Logs today for the first check--a student's grade will indicate how complete their Learning Logs were kept. I do
not give late grades for Learning Logs if students were in class today. If they are using class time wisely throughout the unit, the Learning Logs should be right up-to-date. Anything less than 50/55 would indicate students are not working in class.

Students had their last day to read and take notes in class. Tomorrow they'll begin to plan their research paper. Because this essay is so involved, I collect the drafts from students every day or so to give feedback
and make sure students are on track.
