Rather than think of a half-day as a wasted day, I like to see how many "housekeeping" tasks we can accomplish in the short time we have together...
ELA 11
The half-day provided us with a chance to take a quick vocab quiz and look at where we're going. I posted the March calendar on Moodle today, so students know what's ahead. As of 3/18 Fahrenheit 451 reading should be finished. Our final assessments are a Glog project and essay synthesizing Fahrenheit, WALL-E, and "Harrison Bergeron". Students will have some class time to work on their Glog, but should also plan on some work at home. (Same goes for the essay.)
AP Language
Though only thirty minutes, students continued taking notes for their research paper; Tuesday and Wednesday of this week will see us doing the same. Of course, students have also been researching and taking notes at home--the assignment was given on February 16 to allow plenty of time for this. I hope. If not, they will be caught short this Thursday when we begin to draft in class.
