The calm before the storm

~I won't post another blog entry until after the MME's ~

ELA 11
Today students had a reading comprehension quiz over Part 2 of Fahrenheit 451. We had time for questions on Friday and today--unfortunately, most hours didn't ask for any clarification.; scores have been entered on Skyward. After the quiz students had some uninterrupted time to read (25-35 minutes). I also handed out and reviewed the ACT tips that I have been posting here. Tomorrow is the Big Day!

Dress in Layers
The room temperatures in CPHS can vary from very warm to freezing. Be prepared for both extremes and everything in-between. You need to be comfortable to do your best.
Arrive Early
Check out your test location before test day to ensure that you know where you're going. Room numbers are posted in the Guidance Office. Students who do not arrive on time are not permitted into the testing room and will be dismissed; test make-ups will require missed class time next week.

 AP Language
Students had time in the computer lab today--it seems as though most have settled on their research topic, and so today was an opportunity to do some reading. I also presented the parts of the classic argument, the format for this research paper. Seniors will be in the classroom on Wednesday and Thursday and will have further time for reading. Good luck, juniors, over the next few days.
