Work day

ELA 11
Students have two more work days this week for their poetry portfolio and poet shadow. I have a set of encyclopedias for them to use for researching their poet. Most students have chosen their poem to memorize--you might want to offer to be their audience!

AP Language
We had a full day of book talks today--Dakota and Marcel read Tuesday's With Morrie (and Marcel brought me to tears!); Nicole shared Reviving Ophelia.

Yearbook
Several teams have already revised their first spreads and have only a few minor changes until they receive a grade. Some students seem to be struggling with organization--I have staffers who are just taking photos and are only beginning to interview ... and these stories were assigned November 29th! (Word copy for all but winter sports is due on Monday 12/13.)  One reason I say they are struggling is because they visit in class, play video games, and work on their homework--and leave yearbook work untouched. (This is the reason right now for the extremely low grades.)
