ELA 11
Students had time in class to do the following: begin the rough draft of their persuasive essay and/or highlight and annotate a persuasive essay, "Small Schools Offer Something Special". Whatever was not done in class is homework--I will check both tomorrow during class. Sixth hour had a slightly different agenda since they will not be in the computer lab this week. They were to have drafted their persuasive essays in their learning log--many kids wasted time and did not accomplish much. It should be homework for them this evening. Mr. Gary Holland gave each class a brief introduction to classes offered at KCTC and those students who are interested in attending signed up for a visit to the tech school.
AP Language
Students have another day in the computer lab to choose the speech they'll use for their semester exam project. And, as always on Tuesdays, we had a vocab quiz. Overall vocab scores are improving, but some students still need to prepare better.
Yearbook
Class meets in the computer lab on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Staffers are getting their pictures, stories, and cutlines on their spreads ... it's lookin' good!
