Ready for more --

ELA 11
Students began the first of two ACT practice units. This first mini-unit will run the entire week; we will practice again in February, closer to the MME. Today students were introduced to the ELA portion of the test and we just started practice before the hour's end. I am encouraging students to annotate their practice tests when we correct them--the better they understand why an answer is correct and how they got to the answer the more comfortable they will feel with the ACT.
I also posted the December calendar this morning! Our ACT practice will be followed by a short poetry unit before Winter Break. I encourage students to print the calendar for planning purposes, but I am not collecting them for points.

AP Language
We reviewed some basic research procedures in class today--students should be working on their semester exam research project. Much of the research will be done independently, but we will be in the computer lab Wed. and Thursday this week. The first due date for the project is this Friday--speech annotations.

Yearbook
Spread II deadline is tomorrow. Today students got their assignments for the second spreads!
