A day in the life ...

ELA 11
Students worked their second day in the computer lab typing up their narrative draft. Today they were to add two of our seventy-eight vocabulary words, a sentence with a dash, and a sentence with parentheses. Hours 1 and 2 were quite productive and most students have their typed drafts added to their writing folders. Sixth hour, sadly, will not be in the computer lab next week and instead will type their drafts as homework; computer games, horseplay, and loud (sometimes inappropriate) talking kept students off task.

AP Language
Students had a well-run Socratic Seminar today (thanks, Michael!), and great discussion on gender roles, intelligence, and culture. Most students came with good insights and shared them with the group--some still need to contribute more freely.

Yearbook
FINALLY--staffers are on their spreads and actually loading photographs, body, and cutlines. Our first layout deadline is next Thursday. Staffers can work on Online Design at home--if you have any computer issues, please feel free to call the Walsworth computer support number: 800-369-1530. You can also access a Live Help session until 7:30 pm weekdays (see the Walsworth Online Design website for more information). Don't be shy--the technicians are very helpful.
