Part II: The teacher's role

Yesterday I wrote about how students need to approach their class work, but I (obviously!) have a role to play as well. Each marking period I've offer these opportunities:

Correct & Reflect opportunities available for most reading assessments.  

·         Step-by-step lists for Moodle Monday work are written in the agenda and linked to Moodle books; I am available to help students navigate, but most are comfortable with the platform at this time.

·         Board directions and/or task lists are posted on Moodle each day.

·         Vocabulary lists on Moodle—numbered for the semester.

·         Class time is given to work on nearly every assignment. 

·         Opportunities to ask questions in class during class discussion.

·         I am available to  help outside of class if students don't understand the class content or an assignment—before or after school, seminar.
