Not exactly Gangnam style ...

... but students will definitely use MLA style! Writing a research paper involves a great deal of technical writing skills--for any student moving on to college after high school, these skills are critical. Teachers at CPHS taught the skills of parenthetical citation and Works Cited in 9th and 10th grades--at the junior level Works Cited page. It's very important that students follow directions and use a style guide (I recommend Purdue's OWL) when writing their research paper--it's a painstaking process and the format is very precise. Here are two resources I created for kids in addition to providing them with links to OWL:

The final researched essay is due next Thursday; after Moodle Monday on 4.22.13, students will have no more class time to work on their essay. Tomorrow students should bring their 2nd semester SSR book to class--finish date is May 16.
