Act I is a wrap

Our schedule at the end of the year is quite manageable--I try to keep kids busy in class, so that they can enjoy the nicer weather (hopefully!), participate in spring sports, and work. If you check our monthly agenda on Moodle, you'll notice we're now watching A Raisin in the Sun. Today we finished Act I and students had an opportunity to work on character notes and personal responses in their Writer's Notebooks. I will check Writer's Notebooks on a more regular basis the next couple weeks to encourage students to use class time wisely.

Students won't begin their PBL until the 2nd week in May--this marking period it is an individual project that requires little technology. We'll have a quiz over Act I of the play tomorrow; I'm allowing students to take their WNs home in order to study. Another due date change for the research paper: because the counselors will be helping kids with their EDPs on Wednesday, I'll collect the essays on Thursday, May 2.
