I emailed my students yesterday afternoon to tell them that I moved the Fahrenheit quiz to Wednesday--we worked instead with pp. 1-44 in the computer lab today (link). The tasks for Moodle Monday will help students focus their reading; they also read some background about symbolism in the novel (link). I am also cracking down on kids not working in the computer lab--playing games, tweeting, watching YouTube videos has exploded. I gave students a warning and then asked them to shut down their computer. Those who were disruptive went to the office. I was lucky enough to find audio of the novel on YouTube and I've posted it for kids--it should support their reading, not replace it, but audio can be a great help for many students (link). 

Just a reminder that all students need a self-selected book to read on Fridays. It should be at a Young Adult or adult reading level. This semester I've stipulated that the book students read can not be a movie. Many students did not bring a book on Friday.
