It's hard to believe we are almost halfway through the school year--just think ... your teen is only one semester away from his or her senior year! I hope everyone is well-rested from our long winter break.
Today kids worked on annotating their Article of the Week, and I collected them at the end of the hour to check progress. Students had plenty of time to complete annotations and I'm hoping to see students demonstrate they understand the process of finding a main idea and noting supporting details. This skill was weak on our mid-term exam and it will be something we spend more time practicing this next semester.
A word on our schedule this week--students will have one class day to meet with their teams to go over last minute details for their presentation next week. Other work will focus on the book students read 1st semester during SSR; because I'd like them to have evenings free for working on finalizing their PBL, all work for the independent reading will be completed in class and collected each day. Staying on task will be critical!
