Workaday Monday

Over the next couple weeks, I won't fill students' Moodle Mondays other than a short intro. They will have time to work on their character campaigns.(See the December-January agenda here.)  I've strongly suggested that students create their printed work on Google Drive so that group members can collaborate both in and outside of class. While there are a few drawbacks to using Google docs, the benefits (especially for group work) far outweigh the disadvantages.

If students re-worked their PBL proposals, I also looked at them today. Last week I gave students guidelines to help them plan more effectively and today the "re-doers" were asked to share their doc with me so I can be sure all group members contributed to the effort.

Last week we had no reading assignment so students could catch up and gain some insight into the novel with class discussion. This week we'll continue that focus. Lord of the Flies is rich with meaning and students are making good progress with their understanding of the novel. Tomorrow I'll give students a rare reading day for the novel--the book should be finished by Friday 12/14.
