Counting down ...

I haven't posted this week because kids have had work time to complete their project--our last PBL assessment of the year. Most have worked well during the hour and have made good use of their time. Today students completed a self-evaluation and even grade their project--I'm curious to see what they think they deserve and the evaluation gives me feedback on any problems they ran into along the way (although I've been checking in almost daily to avoid any huge roadblocks). I also did a little "fashion show" of the projects, just so students could see what their classmates produced. And might I say some of the work is out of this world!

A few students have asked about the exam next Thursday or Friday. As in previous marking periods, I will give a reading test to track student reading skills and progress. (All ELA teachers at CPHS are doing this for both mid-terms and finals.) Students will have 3 reading passages and 30 questions--no need to study; they'll just need to bring their best reading skills to the exam.
