Welcome Back!

Today we hit the ground running! Our next unit will be a short two-week unit to write a researched essay. The good news is that students will use the articles read for their oral argument last marking period--and, in fact, their oral arguments could be considered the rough drafts (or pre-writing) for the researched essay. In 9th and 10th grade students were introduced to Works Cited and parenthetical citation--we will merely review those concepts in ELA 11. Today students worked on source cards for their Works Cited; I'm happy to say that if students were on task, they completed at least 4 of the 5 required cards. We will use those in class tomorrow to check the citations. Tomorrow's task will be to review parenthetical citations.
