Presentations are behind us and we're moving into marking period wrap up and exams. I'll have time today to talk to kids about grades, touch base with students who have missing work, and plan for the rest of the week. Exams will run hours 1, 2, 3 on Wednesday and hours 4, 5, 6 on Thursday. I'd like to offer students a study period on Wed. during hours 1, 2, 3. After that it's off to Spring Break--and for some of you, warm climate and sunny skies! The farthest I'll travel this year will be Indianapolis to visit my daughter and son-in-law before she starts a grueling accelerated18 month nursing program.
The exam this marking period will be a reading assessment--see my post from last Friday for more background. Our next unit will be a short, two-week research paper. The good thing is that students will be able to focus on
formatting their research paper, because the research was already done for their oral arguments! They've done the reading, highlighting, and annotating--and now it's time to do the writing. Our content focus will be argument form, parenthetical citations, and
