ELA 11
I've been neglectful posting while trying to get my seniors from other classes wrapped up and grading juniors' work so grades are as current as possible this late in the year. We've been working on a final project for Lord of the Flies--kids are writing "tweets" and creating avatars for characters in the novel. Most students are working in pairs to lighten their load a bit, although students who are currently failing ELA 11 are working on their own. This has caused a few kerfluffles, but I need to assess whether or not those students understand the material on their own and are not being "pulled along" by someone else. (The project itself is quite manageable for an individual.) The tweets are due next Tuesday at the end of the hour--we'll have one more day in the computer lab to finish up.

Our seniors have left and juniors will start working on their exam next week. Students will teach an essay from their text 50 Essays the week of exams. Kids are working in groups of three. Today we finished Casablanca and began to plan for the teach.
