Research, research everywhere

ELA 11
Today students marked their research papers on Google docs by highlighting, underlining, and labeling their research according to my prompts. (They will then use these mark-ups to help them revise next week.) I had students print their drafts--most had three solid hours of typing time and were assigned to finish their paragraphs last night at home if they were not yet finished. I will return the essays tomorrow and students will exchange essays to get some more feedback. The final essay is due next Thursday, Feb. 3.  Next week we begin the literature unit: our first novel is Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.

AP Language
We continue on with the saga of Henry V. Today we first asked what patriotism was and then how we expressed our patriotism--this will be a personal response next week.

Yearbook
Today our Walsworth rep Anthony Perez came to get us started on our ad supplement, panel pages, and the cover, theme, and dividers. What a busy hour! Tomorrow teams will share their ideas for the class sidebars and we will plan a party for Monday to celebrate our second semester and welcome our new staffers.
