Closing Act

Act II quiz was today; scores should be entered today or tomorrow. Students also watched a short video on the Civil Rights Movement and posted to a forum: Should the Youngers take Mr. Lindner up on his offer? Why or why not? I closed the forum after class--students had ample time to respond if they were on task. Tomorrow kids should have the poem "Harlem" by Langston Hughes memorized; you may remember that this was assigned a couple weeks ago. I provided students with a link to help them with reciting (link)--a reading of the poem by Langston Hughes himself with some archival footage of Harlem in the forties and fifties.

I've now posted all videos for the play--there is a little overlap and a minute or two missing here and there, but students who miss watching the video in class can catch up just fine. To help students I numbered the sequence on Moodle today (#1-8).This should make it easier to follow.

Tomorrow and Wednesday students will read Act III in small groups--everyone will get to "play" a part. Starting next week, students will begin work on their last PBL of the year.
