Believe it or not, we
did work today! The excitement is running high, but I find it's often better to keep the kids busy, rather than to let them fall apart. Today we did our first work with language, a.k.a the dreaded "g"
We also took a vocab quiz--grades will be in by the end of the day, so check. Some students don't appear to be studying. I moved the Article of the Week to Friday this week, so kids will need to finish annotating and write their response in their Writer's Notebooks.
word--grammar. Most of us in the English department follow a program called Mechanically Inclined which take some of the sting out of grammar study. We worked today with two mentor sentences and kids started to write their own sentences patterned on them.
Let's hope the rain clears up in time for the parade and game tonight!
