Oops!

I usually start the week with a post--and Monday slipped away from me. So here's my Monday post ... one day late! Students took their first reading quiz over chapters 1-3 of Lord of the Flies. That grade will give them (and us) an idea of how carefully they've read initially. Today I'll take time for questions--although if you visit Moodle, you'll also see that I have a forum created (link) where kids can ask questions about their reading. I'll either answer their post or use the question for whole-class discussion. I'll also suggest that students use study questions to do one of two things (or both!). They can read the questions before reading to guide their reading or after reading to check for comprehension. The study questions are here (link). Hopefully, those study strategies will guide their reading. Tomorrow I'll have another suggestion to help with comprehension.
