Students spent most of the hour in teams planning their oral arguments. They divvied up the introduction and conclusion, double checked to see that recommendations were not repeated, and marked up drafts for revision. Check the grade for "oral argument draft"--a check mark means they had their draft typed and marked up; a "missing" means the draft was not handed in. Students had Friday and Monday in the lab to complete this, so a missing draft
might be indicative of time wasted. (Of course, it could be related to other factors such as an absence, etc.) No points were given--I just recorded the timeliness of their effort.
Tomorrow will be the opportunity for Correct & Reflect on the
Fahrenheit 451 test. We'll also take another look at Senate hearings, so kids can get a look at how their expert testimony might be presented. Just a head's up--experts should dress business casual on their scheduled day.
