Good Stuff!

All hours were shortened to 30 minutes today to account for the half-day schedule. We used it in ELA 11 to tie up some loose ends--first, reviewing the Article of the Week from Wednesday and then beginning to read the second research article for oral arguments. This article might put kids off as it's 14 pages--but it definitely fits our new curriculum by offering students a chance to practice reading difficult informational text; the article is also relevant to their lives: "Is the Internet Changing Social Life? It Seems the More Things Change, the More They Stay the Same." Good stuff, as the Snapple ad would say.

Next week students will spend two class days pre-gridding for the MME. While I'm sorry to lose class time, I love getting kids ready for their big day X 3.
