We have stepped back from in-class work time on the PBL. Earlier this month we looked at the English and reading sections of the ACT; today we looked at the writing portion of the test and some student models. Tomorrow I'll return kids' baseline ACT writing given earlier this month--and they will have the opportunity to play teacher and evaluate their writing.We focus a great deal on honing reading and writing skills this year in order to help kids prepare for both college and the ACT.
Students have until 11 PM tonight to send me their work progress check--the form was sent via Gmail yesterday. I encouraged kids today to be sure they don't consider Moodle assignments "optional". I leave most open for 2-3 days to allow for completion, but once the quiz or forum is closed there is no make-up.
